Comments:
On 23 August 2007, a contract was signed between SSM and Dearsan Shipyard. This shipyard was chosen to build 16 New Class Patrol Boats for Turkish Navy. This class of patrol boats will conduct patrol, security and ASW duties in and around important harbors, bases and at their approaches.
Dearsan will build these boats in 4 batches. One of the important goals of this project is to have %69 of indigenous input. This is the largest project to day where Turkish Navy outsourced the construction of ships to private shipyards.
