Natya class mine sweeper Valentin Pikul passed through Istanbul without her usual Coast Guard escort, because of this accident.

One of the Italian Navy’s training ships, the barquentine Palinuro passed through Bosphorus for her Black Sea deployment.
Because of the strong current and weak engine power Palinuro had to be towed northbound.
