>A summary for the last 10 days

>Last week I was on a vacation and away from Internet. So, I am going to wrap up the last ten days important news and happenings:

1) Saudi Arabian warships visited Istanbul
Saudi Arabian warships, Lafayette class, Al Riyadh, Type 2000S Class, Hofouf and Durance class auxiliary Yunbou made a rare visit to İstanbul. The ships left the town on 17 July. It is pity that I have missed these ships. Click here for the photos.

2) USS Stout entered in to the Black Sea
US Arleigh Burke class destroyer USS Stout visited Georgia. She arrived in Poti on 17 July and left on 19 July. I do not know whether the crew of USS Stout partied as hard as they have in Bodrum last month but they apparently did some exercising with the remaining units of Georgian Navy (or Coast Guard depending how you see it).

3) Turkish Coast Guard conducted naval exercises with Georgian Navy
USA was not the only nation that sends its warships to Georgia last week. The Turkish Coast Guard cuter TCSG-123 made a two day visit to Poti from 15th till 17th July. During these two days a joint exercise about search and rescue operations and tactical maneuvering was conducted.

4) Turkish warships in Cyprus
TCG Giresun, TCG Zafer, TCG Sokullu Mehmet Paşa, TCG Cezayirli Gazi Hasan Paşa are visiting Turkish part of Cyprus to commemorate the 35th anniversary the Turkish landing. TCG Sokullu Mehmet Paşa, TCG Cezayirli Gazi Hasan Paşa are former German tenders used as training ships. TCG Zafer is the sole remaining Knox class frigate in Turkish service. I am surprised to see her still active.
