>Pirates attack Turkish container ship

>Turkish owned and flagged container ship M/V CRISTINA A was attacked by pirates 100 miles off the Seychelles Islands. Pirates approached the ship by 50 meters and opened fire with guns. The ship increased its speed to 21 knots and escaped from the pirates.

The crew is unharmed. The vessel was built at the Peene Werft shipyard. With a capacity of 1,604 TEU she is one of the the largest vessels in Arkas’s fleet.
