I don’t know where, or when but apparently Turkish Navy fired an ESSM missile from a MK-41 VLS launcher on a Gabya (Perry) class frigate.

Although the name of the frigate that fires the ESSM was never mentioned during the show, I assume it must be F-495 TCG Gediz, the first Gabya (Perry) class frigate to receive the Mk-41 VLS.

What if another *Gokceada class frigate got her VLS launcher installed?
P.S. I name F494-F497 as Gokceada class frigates because of their projected Smart-S Mk2 + Mk41 VLS/ESSM capabilities.
The test was done on board of F-495 TCG Gediz. This is confirmed by the producer of the program from TRT.
But it is true that other frigates will receive VLS launchers in the future.
