>Russian And Greek Navies Will Conduct Joint Exercise

>According to RIA Novosti, Russian and Greek navies will conduct joint exercise this year.

“15 activities with participation of Russian and Greek servicemen are scheduled in 2010, including exchange of delegations, mutual visits of ships, and joint naval exercise with warships of the two countries”, said Mrs. Kovalchuk, press secretary of Russian defense minister.

This declaration was made after the tthe meeting between Russian and Greek defense ministers Anatoly Serdiukov and Evangelos Venizelos, that took place in Moscow on Tuesday.

In late June – early July 2010, Russia will conduct Vostok-2010 a major military exercise. Russian Ministry of Defense plans to appropriate over 20 bln rub for field training exercises, field firings, long-range cruises of warships, and strategic aviation patrol flights.

Units of Far East, Siberian, Volga-Ural Military Commands, and Pacific Fleet will participate in the exercise. Naval units from Northern Fleet and Black Sea Fleet will also take part in Vostok 2010.

The ships from NF and BSF will sail through Med on their way to Far East. That is when Russia will perform naval exercise with Greek Navy.
